PS 3: Cummings Broadcast


On February 14, 1937, Attorney General Cummings broadcast to the general public an address on the Judicial Reform Bill and included the motivations for its conception. Cummings pointed to lengthy case pending times of five to ten years and explained that justices over the age of 70 were incapable of understanding and deciding complex modern issues.
